Company
Open Arms Dance Company is a program for dancers who are ready to take their training to the next level! Our company dancers perform at various community events and compete at competitions throughout the year.
Dancers between the ages of 5 and 18 are eligible to audition for Open Arms Dance Company. Open Arms offers multiple teams to support dancers of all levels and ages, and no prior dance experience is required. Members take classes in choreography, conditioning, ballet, and skill-training based on their team, age, and level. Dancers must audition for each team (tap, jazz, contemporary) that they wish to perform and compete in. Dancers can join 1, 2, or all 3 teams. Our tap team performs and competes 2-3 tap routines a season. Dancers on our tap team are also eligible for solos, duets, and trios in the style of tap. Members of our tap team are required to take conditioning and skill-training in addition to their choreography classes.
Tap Team
Our jazz team performs and competes 4-5 jazz and musical theatre routines a season. Dancers on our jazz team are also eligible for solos, duets, and trios in the styles of jazz and musical theatre. Members of our jazz team are required to take conditioning, skill-training, and ballet in addition to their choreography classes.
Jazz Team
Our contemporary team performs and competes 4-5 contemporary and lyrical routines a season. Dancers on our contemporary team are also eligible for solos, duets, and trios in the styles of contemporary and lyrical. Members of our contemporary team are required to take conditioning, skill-training, and ballet in addition to their choreography classes.

2026 -2027 Company Auditions
Dancers must audition for each team, individually, even if they are invited to a team. Dancers may arrive up to 30 minutes before auditions to warm themselves up and stretch; a warm-up will not be included as part of audition times. Parents will be allowed in the studio for warm-ups, but must return to the waiting room to watch auditions through the cameras once auditions begin. During auditions, dancers will be asked to perform various skills and may learn choreography. Judges will be looking at dancers’ technique, the skills they can execute, musicality, and stage presence (facial expressions, effort, emotional execution).
We are offering 3 audition dates this year:
April 25
May 30
June 20
Auditions will last 1 hour per team.
Jazz Team: 9:00-10:00am
Contemporary Team: 10:00-11:00am
Tap Team: 11:00-12:00am
